I went to Hampton Court Palace. It was huge. We are talking, 1000 rooms. Many rooms had this beautiful wood paneling from floor to ceiling. Other rooms had really intricately detailed ceilings. And a few hallways were decorated with large portraits of women (who all looked the same). They were different people but their makeup was the same and their eyebrows were actually rat hair ew. But these halls explain the line “pretty maids all in a row” from the “Mary, Mary, quite contrary…” song.
There was a maze made out of shrubbery and it was very disappointing. Where were the blast ended scroots!? If you don’t know what those are, you haven’t lived. I found my way pretty quickly and it wasn’t scary or difficult.
The gardens were the best part. And I got to see the bird from the Secret Garden, yes the same one. The orange chested bird has alluded me for a month and I finally saw it. And of course I saw it in a garden.
I went to Harrods twice last week. They have the best food. And I got lost. It was very big, much bigger than I expected. My friend liked it so much, that she wanted to eat there for her birthday on Friday so that’s why I was there twice. It was definitely overwhelming.
I went to a football game on Saturday. It was fantastic. Each side had their own chants. And they were constantly yelling at each other with vulgar obscenities. It was highly entertaining. I got really into the chants. I wish our sports had chants. I think if I lived here I would go to a football game every week. It’s more interesting than American football (no offense).
Well, I ‘m going to go have Black Pudding. Guess what that is? I’ll let you figure it out.

The Portland Timbers DO have chants. Seattle just got an MLS team too. There’ll be opportunities for cheers yet 🙂

I went to Hampton Court Palace too! We went right before closing, so we squeaked into the gardens for free (or are they free anyway?). I remember that I really liked all the chimneys on the building–it reminded me of Mary Poppins. And did you see the grape-growing part?
