I went to a boat race today and apparently it is “The Boat Race” to go to since it is a rowing competition between Cambridge and Oxford. It was pretty exciting, all rainy and TONS of people. We saw about a minute, maybe, of the race, and then everyone turned around and went on their way. It was a lot of build up and I had a most excellent burger with onions and ketchup. MMMM good. Afterward, me, Greg and our new friends Gwen and Albert, went to Piccadilly Circus and walked around window shopping. We figured that London is so fashionable because people are shopping constantly. There are clothing stores EVERYWHERE! And there are people everywhere.
You cannot go anywhere really without a MASS of people. I am incapable of describing how many people live here. The tube system is so efficient because it has to be, because it HAS TO accommodate the 7.5 million people!
I am also incapable of describing the roads here. Of course it is somewhat backwards compared to where I am from and you who are reading this. It is so completely and utterly disorienting. Sometimes I get dizzy. I cannot wrap my head around it, yet. I don’t think I’d ever be able to drive here.
We went to a pub tonight, “The Crown,” and it was fantastic. Very pub like. I had cider and it was delicious. It took a while to find it, we are very particular about where we go (i.e.: cheap and historic). I recommend any pub that is old no matter where you are in the world. You are bound to have a good time, as long as you are with good company ;0).
Tomorrow I am going to a market, I love markets. So I have to go to bed now b/c it is late here :). Toodles!
Hey honey,Paul and I just got done viewing the photos. All we can say is, WOW. We are having tons of fun reading your blog. What a great way to communicate. I do miss your sweet voice though. Keep sending…we are checking daily. We would like to see more pictures of you too. I got a kick out of the Billy Elliot poster on the double-decker. Did you catch that one? I’m thinking thats why you took that shot. Love you lots and thanks for taking us along on your daily tours. Love mom & Paul!
