GeekGirlCon and NYCC 2011

Whirlwind, whirlwind! My last two cons of the year and back to back they were.

GeekGirlCon was a lovely time. I was only able to attend Sunday, but the event sold out, which is a great sign for next year! The volunteers were amazing and so helpful. I moderated a panel called “Girlheroes” and we discussed the panelist’s inspirations and writing/creative processes. A big THANK YOU to all my panelists for supporting GGC and being brave, honest, and willing to be a part of the panel: Anne Timmons, Jen Van Meter, Jennifer K. Stuller, Roberta Gregory, and Trina Robbins! Also thanks to the audience for asking such thought-provoking questions. I was humbled and grateful for the experience. I look forward to next year’s GGC!

My boyfriend filmed this lovely video excerpt. There’s a bit at the end that doesn’t have sound, but otherwise it’s great! The question I posed was:

I’m going to guess that your muses are not any of the Greek goddesses or assume they are necessarily women, but who or what is a muse to you? Is it a woman or women or a fictional character or none of the above?

New York Comic Con was so intense, more so than SDCCI, but also so GREAT!
