Whirlwind, whirlwind! My last two cons of the year and back to back they were.
GeekGirlCon was a lovely time. I was only able to attend Sunday, but the event sold out, which is a great sign for next year! The volunteers were amazing and so helpful. I moderated a panel called “Girlheroes” and we discussed the panelist’s inspirations and writing/creative processes. A big THANK YOU to all my panelists for supporting GGC and being brave, honest, and willing to be a part of the panel: Anne Timmons, Jen Van Meter, Jennifer K. Stuller, Roberta Gregory, and Trina Robbins! Also thanks to the audience for asking such thought-provoking questions. I was humbled and grateful for the experience. I look forward to next year’s GGC!
My boyfriend filmed this lovely video excerpt. There’s a bit at the end that doesn’t have sound, but otherwise it’s great! The question I posed was:
New York Comic Con was so intense, more so than SDCCI, but also so GREAT!
Some things to sum it up:
30 hours of Black Eyed Peas music

“Where will the signing be?” x1 million
Great co-workers
New comics and my personal favorite, Trade Paperbacks
Being 5 feet from Scott Adsit (Pete Hornberger from 30 Rock)
Dinner at Becco
Meeting new creators and connecting with old ones
Netti pot saved my life
Great friends who housed me
