Good Day!
Have you heard of 750words.com? It’s a private place where you can write with the intention of “learning a new habit”, specifically writing everyday. I use it occasionally when I feel like keeping my writing and thoughts to myself. It’s a nice, non-obligatory space to write freely.
I admit, sharing my work with others is not easy for me. I feel sick to my stomach right before I hit the publish button, but it’s something I’m overcoming. Here’s a poem I wrote two days ago on the 750 Words site:
I watch the beating of my heart
Inside the terminus that is my mind
I await greatness that is to come
And wonder how old I’ll be when it does
I long to read but look at the books instead
Hoping to one day devour them whole
There are too many options to choose from
And in the end, the choice is none
I know that time is fleeting
I see it passing by, click, click, click
Like it’s unstoppable, always existing
Aging everyone in it’s path
It’s omniscient, omnipotent, it rules over everything
Time is the overseer of humanity
It is not angry nor loving, it just is
It is the guiding force of us all
That’s it! Well, I’m off to the grocery store in a snowstorm. It’s pretty wild over here on the east coast.
Have a spectacular day!
Ciao,
