I did it! I finished my first comic book script! I even sent it to a special friend who is auditioning for the part of the artist.
You might think that’s the reveal, but it’s not. Let me back a bit. After sorting through my old notes and discovering half-done stories, I set out to finish them. Some are still in progress and what is captured below is as well, but it’s significant headway and now entering the next phase of it’s life.
I suppose I’m entering the next phase of my life as a writer. Recently, I learned that I’m a “Pantster.” Now don’t get excited, this doesn’t mean I pull down people’s pants to expose their unmentionables. The term refers to the kind of writer I am. I always thought I was just a procrastinator, but it seems there’s more to it than that. I fly by the seat of my pants or let ideas flow rather than plot everything out meticulously. After accepting that there’s no requirement to outline everything, I found ideas came more freely.
This story has definitely ebbed and flowed over the last four years. I always intended it to be a comic book series, and after numerous drafts, that’s the one intention that has remained constant. And now…the tiniest reveal:
More to come. Stay tuned.
